How to save from YouTube
Save YouTube videos, documentaries, and podcasts directly to your library.
Save YouTube videos and tutorials
Whether it's a long-form documentary, a fitness routine, a tech review, or a podcast, hook it makes it easy to keep everything in one place.
Step 1: Open the YouTube Video
Open the YouTube app and find the video you want to save.
Step 2: Tap Share
Tap the Share button located below the video player.
Step 3: Select hook it
From the share menu, select hook it. On iOS, you may need to tap the system share icon (usually looks like three dots or "More") to find the hook it app.
What hook it extracts from YouTube
Our AI is specifically tuned for YouTube content:
- Video Titles: Extracted and cleaned of unnecessary emojis or tags.
- Detailed Descriptions: We scan the video description for source links, information lists, and instructions.
- Creator Metadata: We keep a record of the channel name and original link.
Pro Tip: Shorts vs. Long-form
Hook it works seamlessly with both YouTube Shorts and traditional horizontal videos. For Shorts, the share process is identical to the one you use on TikTok or Instagram.
Troubleshooting
The link saved but no description was found? Some YouTube creators put their detailed information behind external links in the "pinned comment" or description. Hook it attempts to follow these links, but if the content is behind a paywall (like Patreon), it may only save the video title.
Can I save a whole Playlist? Currently, hook it saves individual videos. To save a playlist, you'll need to hook each video you want to keep individually.
