How to save from your Clipboard
Use the copy-paste method to save news, links, and products when the share sheet isn't available.
The manual "Hook it" method
Sometimes the app you are using doesn't make it easy to find the Share Sheet. In those cases, the clipboard method is your best friend for saving any link.
Step 1: Copy the Link
Find the news article, product, or post you want to save. Instead of looking for a share button, just choose Copy Link.
Step 2: Open hook it
Switch back to the hook it app on your phone.
Step 3: Confirm the Import
Hook it automatically detects when you have a valid link on your clipboard. A small panel will slide up from the bottom asking: "Import link from your clipboard?"
Tap Hook it to start the extraction.
When to use this method:
- Inside certain apps: Some apps have custom share menus that don't show system extensions.
- From text messages: If someone sends you a link in a chat, just copy the message and open hook it.
- Fast saving: If you are already browsing many items or products, you can copy several links and import them one by one.
Troubleshooting
The clipboard panel didn't appear? Make sure the link you copied is a full URL (starting with http:// or https://). Also, ensure you have given hook it permission to "Paste from other apps" when prompted by iOS.
It's asking for a different link? Hook it only shows the panel if it detects a new link that you haven't saved recently. If you copy the same link twice, the panel might not reappear.
